Tramp part flow metalworking fluid filtration system

Vacuum filter which reduce the number of necessary coolant changes by more than 90%

The Nederman Perpetuum metalworking fluid filtration and coolant recovery is a cutting oil separation system designed to increase the life-time of the coolant by continuosly removing tramp-oil, particles, and bacteria from coolants. The part flow filtration system has been field-proven to reduce the number of necessary coolant changes by more than 90%.

  • Low maintenance through central coolant cleaning
  • Extended life-time of the coolant and reduced operating costs
  • Improved working environment around the machine
  • Improved external environment as coolant can be used significantly longer

Technical description of Perpetuum part flow coolant filter

The Perpetuum oil separation systems are installed and connected through pipe-works to 2 to 20 machines. It works in a partial flow fashion, meaning that a limited flow of coolant is pumped continuosly from tanks at the machines to the system.

The Perpetuum oil separator cleans coolants from tramp oils, dirt and bacteria. The fundamental idea with the Perpetuum tramp oil removal system is to get an automatic system which is able to drain off and continuously remove tramp oil from the different machine tools. The oil separation system is also able to top up and provide information on the coolant concerning concentration, pH and temperature. It can be adapted to work under almost any type of coolant and material condition.

The Perpetuum oil separation system includes dredge tank, pumping stations, tramp-oil separator unit, filter unit, and mixer unit. Optional equipment includes a bacteria remover unit, PH-meter and refractometer. A small flow of coolant is continuously pumped from the machine tanks by pump stations to a the Perpetuum System. The coolant is first fed through a filter which removes any remaining particles, typically a media-free rotary drum filter is used. The tramp-oil is then removed by the system and the coolant is pumped back to the tanks at the machines.

Proven solutions

Machining - turning, milling and grinding industries

Metal machining

Milling, drilling and grinding generate metal chips which may affect the operations. Our eco-efficient solutions keep machines and premises free from scraps and our oil mist filters purify the air from dangerous oil drops. With Nederman systems for swarf handling and processing, coolant recycling and oil/water separation you are ensured clean air, prolonged life of coolant, decreased costs for swarf handling and coolant, and better prices when recycling scrap material.
