Airborne dust and fine particles can be hazardous to the human health and should be extracted at source before it reaches the breathing zone. The operator should always be protected from inhaling dust. On-tool extraction provides effective extraction and also ensures excellent freedom of movement and operator flexibility. Nederman attachment kits can be attached to both electric and pneumatic tools.

Wherever it is a viable solution, it has been proven that extraction at source is the most effective and efficient method of capturing and removing welding and similar fumes. Using this method, the risk of the welder or operator being subject to hazardous fumes is minimized. 

Many welding torches are now designed so the torch itself can easily be connected to the appropriate Nederman extraction unit to pick up most of the hazardous welding fumes. In other cases, Nederman nozzles for welding torches can be used; these are fitted to existing welding torches and are available in three different versions depending on the size of the welding torch.
